Tough Love


Okay, let’s talk EXCUSES! We all have em!!

Excuses are used to get out of things that make us uncomfortable. 
(in the case of my topic anyways, this does not obviously apply to everyone and every situation)

So many people find excuses on why they can’t workout and/or eat well. “Tomorrow I’ll take control of my health, next week…in a month……”
I get it, I was there. “I don’t have time for that…..I have three kids to look after before myself…..I’m too tired to think about adding more movement into my day.” etc. It was pure laziness…… Lets be real, I wasn’t making myself a priority.

Excuses…..sigh….It’s all BS. I’m sorry! I completely 100% get where your coming from but I know first hand its BS.
I made excuses for so long, too long. my physical and mental health was left to pay for my excuses. I decided to just say FUCK IT and put my health at the TOP of my priorities. BEST decision I have ever made.
You have to convince your mind, your body will do anything you tell it too!
When you commit to yourself you find the time, you make the time, won’t allow yourself to fail cause its a priority!
We all have 30 min a day to invest in ourselves. You know that too.

I know I’ll keep hearing excuses and that’s honestly okay, I’ll continue to listen to them but I know behind each one is a lack of priority. I will understand. I will be here when you decide to make the leap. 💚 I will be SO FREAKING STOKED for you!

Healthy body. Healthy mind. Healthy life.



Comparison is the thief of joy


The grass is always greener on the other side….

If you are in a place in your life where you are worried about what others are doing or have, I want you stop right here, today! Its time to water your own “grass”. When you are truly happy with your life you will have the most beautiful garden and not be one bit concerned about other peoples grass. If fact you may have enough “water” to help others water theirs too.


The grass is greenest where it is watered.

If you are looking at someone else’s life and comparing with envy, or dreaming of a better life, I want you to take notice in that. Even write down the things you see in other people that you “dislike” them for having. Then look at what you wrote down, in most cases these are things you are lacking to “water” for yourself. We tend to see what we don’t like about ourselves in other people and envy or dislike them for it. This isn’t healthy……At first, this can feel difficult.  We must bust the myth that we can have someone else’s life, someone else’s castle, someone else’s lawn. We only have our own.  But that is the pivotal spot.  Accept reality for what it is,  develop it on it,  improve it, and to grow it. I think the cliche should be changed to: “The grass is only as green as we keep it.”

Happiness is a state of mind.

How you achieve happiness? Make new friends, settling into a fitness routine, finding ways to enjoy “the moment”…….

Remember that all we ever have is right now. Forget about the past. Don’t worry about the future. Take each day as it comes, and most of all, stop thinking that the grass is greener, because it never really is.

When you feel yourself losing focus and wondering if your happy, bring yourself back to the present, look at what you already have, look around you and enjoy the moments that are happening right now. Find peace in reading a good book, doing some gardening, exercising. Take in the sights, smells, and sounds and breathe deeply. Start to notice what is happening right now, and I guarantee you’ll find your peace. Its time to water your own lawn!

Is maintaining a goal weight just as hard as reaching a goal weight?

Is maintaining a goal weight just as hard as reaching a goal weight?

Good question! This is where I’m at today. The borderline of goal weight and goal reached. I have literally worked my ass off for the last 7 months. I am SUPER proud of my accomplishments. I am feeling at a personal limbo…..what’s next?

goal weight. Check.
gain confidence. Check.
eat healthy 90% of the time. Check.
Workout everyday and make it a habit. Check.

But can I be honest, I actually struggle more some days.

(No, there is NO WAY I’m going back to who I was 7 months ago) This is where id argue that starting is harder then maintaining. Cause that shits hard! But once you have started and have those goals is that easier?

Here I am, I have reached these goals I set out for myself. Checking the measuring tape after weeks of intense exercise isn’t giving me that instant satisfaction anymore. My before and afters are looking similar. Again, not complaining. I simply want to reach out to the those who get to this point! Its time to set new ones……and stick to the current one. What goals do you follow? Did anyone give you the instructions for after the goals? One starts to flounder around. They remember a cheat day months ago and remember not gaining more than a few ounces so that must be OK. They are tired today and don’t really want to go work out. Not losing anymore, so one day won’t hurt. No rules- making them up as you go along. Before you know it, ten pounds are back. Now, you can go back to the goals- yay! So the yo-yo starts.

So what happens now?
Answer: The key to keeping it off is to never treat your food choice or activity like a diet. Its just the way it is from this moment forward.

Lifestyle- not goals.

Evidence shows people go back to their old habits and 65% regain the weight they’ve lost within 4 years. Be the 35% that don’t. Don’t go back to your old habits.

If your like myself you need to have written or set goals to work towards. Of course this is a way of life, a lifestyle, but who doesn’t want to reach goals and smash them and set new ones. This is how we grow!……..I’m just figuring this lifestyle out as I go along.

So for me, the next step is personal development. I want to focus more energy on become a better person to others, and mostly to and for myself. I need to stick to my lifestyle, drop the idea of setting goals about fitness and food. Focus on new goals and making them a part of my lifestyle and on and on. Till I have met the best possible version of myself I can be, and maintain that, cause that’s who I am. One goal at a time, I am becoming more myself then I ever was.

Over here snakin’ on roasted chickpeas

Do you open the cupboards over and over and find nothing quick and healthy to eat? Ugh, I do. It’s smart to be ahead of the game. Here’s a go to recipe that’s SUPER easy to follow. I put them on salads, in Buddha bowls and shove em in my mouth by the hand full. 

Guilt free. Satisfying. Full of fibre and vitamin C. 

Here’s what you do!

Heat oven to 400°. 

Wash chickpeas well in a strainer. Dry them afterwards with paper towel. 

Place on baking sheet. Drizzle with evoo. Here’s where you can get creative with flavour. Or keep them plain (at least add some salt)! This is what I use: S&P, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne. Once you get them seasoned and oiled toss around with your hands to evenly coat and toss them into the oven for 30-40 min. Mix every 15 min or so.
